SiondoERP: Business Software that offers Accounting as a positive side-effect

Sounds fantastic but how does it all work?
When you go to siondo.com and sign up to SiondoERP, you may choose from different business templates which will automatically pre-configure SiondoERP according to your country, region, line of business, and/or incorporation type. To allow you a quick start and based on your choices, SiondoERP generates a Chart of Accounts, populates business Taxes and sets all Financial Reports to regional compliance.
You can always access the settings and easily change the default setup or revert back to the default setup. It’s in the settings where you can configure SiondoERP to comply with any International business legislation and taxation, and manage all the specific types, categories, and classifications which make your business unique. If required, there are many built in SiondoERP features that make your business Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliant.

What makes SiondoERP unique?
SiondoERP let’s you run your daily business from anywhere and offers accounting as a positive side-effect. What? Yes, you have read correctly. You, or any of the unlimited users you may grant role-specific system access, start selling and buying, record expenses, manage inventory and delegate resources, or enter bank account or credit card transactions into the system. You can fully concentrate on running and growing your business while SiondoERP takes care of the “Rest”.
The “Rest” means, automatic double-entry bookkeeping including Standard, Year till Date (YTD) and Comparative GAAP/IFRS compliant Balance Sheets, P&L Statements, Cash Flows, and Trial Balances. There are also Aged Reports for customers and suppliers. Simply access, print, or export these reports by financial year periods or by any date range for the company and/or individual branches (if applicable).


Ok, but what makes SiondoERP really unique?
Double-entry bookkeeping implies that all ledgers or book accounts need to be in balance at all times; very much like a trial balance. If your books are not in balance, you are in “trouble”. For accounts to remain in balance, a change in one account must be matched with a change in another account.
For example, if you send an invoice to a customer, SiondoERP credits a receivable account with the balance due for payment. This is an Asset account (e.g.: Accounts Receivable or Trade Debtors). When the customer then pays the balance due, indicated while receiving a Cash Receipt, SiondoERP debits the Asset account and credits the Income account. In the background, SiondoERP also updates inventory accounts based on the stock sold and shipped to the customer.
In contrast, if you receive an invoice from a supplier, SiondoERP credits a payable account with the balance due for payment. This is a Liability account (e.g.: Accounts Payable or Trade Creditors). When you then issue the payment, SiondoERP debits the Liability account and credits the COGS or Expense account automatically. In the background, SiondoERP also updates inventory accounts based on the stock purchased and received from suppliers.

But enough about Asset, Liability, COGS, Income, Equity, Expense, or Tax Paid accounts because SiondoERP does it all for you - without user input. There is only one central page in the settings which makes this possible. On this page, you or your accountant can pinpoint all bookkeeping accounts which SiondoERP requires to book transactions to the correct bookkeeping accounts – automatically and repeatedly. SiondoERP then offsets all transactions based on business activity which means your ledgers will always be in balance.

What about manual transactions or adjustments to accounts? These are account transactions that have not been triggered by sales, purchasing or expense activities. We have made it mandatory for users to select one or multiple offset accounts for every transaction they book to an account. This way, SiondoERP ensures that the company accounts are always in balance at all times; in fact, the balance cannot be broken and you will never be in “trouble”.
